Swamp Thing vol.1

swamp thing.. a lesser known comic from the DC imprint Vertigo..With Alan Moore Takin over as writer, thr was bound to be a interesting take on a creature created by Len Wein n Bernie Wrightson...

firstly, this is truly a classic styled comic..
the artwork by Steve Bissette and John Totleben is beautiful n intriguing..this helps 2 bring out the horror elements in it perfectly givin the reader a feel of what they are reading..

secondly, Alan Moore weaves his magic yet again ( although he was basically unknown at the time he wrote this) ...
in it he bring out not the gore infested horror that the media seem 2 perceive when a book is categorized as horror..
Instead he bring about horror as a true Human feeling..
this can be seen from how emotions are brought forth 2 show how alec holland comes 2 realise that he is not the swamp thing but rather the swamp is trying 2 become him,and thus feels tat thr is no point in him trying to b the swamp thing in the hope that 1day he wld become human again..
we can see the emotions on the pages n feel the anguish and pain..we feel the gloomy n dark setting of the story, where human emotions are portrait..

this is the classic Horror that Moore brings through this story..he gives you a glimpse of the person within the creature called the swamp thing...
Plus though it collects issues #21-27, the TPB(trade paperback) has an introduction by Moore in which he gives us a synopsis of the previous issues,so that the reader is up to date on the storyline...
i would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Alan Moore and a fan of horror styled comics or comic readers who appreciates quality..

Overall i wld give it a 9.5/10
