All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder VOL 1...

So i had the chance to finally read my all star batman graphic novel about a month ago ( was waitin 4 exams to be over )...

first of having heard in the middle of last year that Frank Miller and Jim Lee were doin a batman series 2gether..the first thing i though of was a masterpiece was in the works here..2 legends doin a series 2gether..got my money saved up and got the graphic novel..

the reviews of the book had not been all that praise worthy..as Miller seemed to have taken the batman's character into a more ruthless and brutal nature..

however having read it..its a very interesting read..its the most brutal potrayal of batman i have read..miller brings to us a more humanized batman not the all loving and kind superhero but rather a man plagued with his own inner struggles and fighting to keep Himself sane..

Jim lee's artwork is breath taking to say the least..i hav always been a fan of old skul style drawing were the lines and borders are so realistic..not the computer generated stuff nowdays..his drawings bring about miller's ruthless batman to life...Scott williams does a great job with the luscious colours...
overall the story is as different a batman story as you will ever read..imagine batman kidnapping robin from the cops and forcing robin to survive alone in the batcave wit out any food..
and thr's a part whr robin nearlly kills the Green Lantern..and batman is just about able to save green lantern from dying..haha
thats the kind of of madness miller brings out in giving us a glimpse of the real soul of the batman..that broken boy who's parents were killed infront of his eyes..in the end the batman is just like you and me fighting to stay sane in an insane world...and the batman's only escape from his insanity is fighting crime..
overall i would give it 8.5/10
its a worthile read and a definite must
hav for batman graphic novel collectors and fans...
P.S : only draw back is the hardcover wil set you back bout RM84-85..
and thr's no softcover version as of yet...
