Blood Oath!!!

First of the album art is as brutal as the the album!!

suffocation's new album 'BLOOD OATH' is full of what death metal is all about..

guttural growls, awesome guitar solos n heartpounding drums..

coming from a band which are 1 of the pioneers of the NY Death Metal Scene and having made some classic death metal albums ( 'Effigy of the Forgotten' , 'Pierced from Within' ) there was no doubt i expected nothing more then pure brutality..and i was not dissapointed!!!

Mike smith again provides a solid heartpounding drumming throughout the whole album..

the guitars were very catchy n just perfect..

the bass was chunky n low but lacked abit of innovation overall but the intro bassline in "Provoking the Disturbed" was nice..

the vocals of frank mullen has always had a nice clear guttural growl which i prefer to the almost inaudible once sometimes used by other vocalist..

this album is a good follow up 2 thr '06 album abomination reborn (which i loved)..

my personal fav songs on the album "Dismal Dream" , "Mental Hemorrhage" , "Provoking the Disturbed" ....

Overall i wld giv it a 8/10
